Update on mom's new (old) Toyota: after Preferred Automotine identified 7 mechanical problems that should have been corrected before the car was offered for sale, we took it back to Capitol Volkswagon for repairs, along with the findings on the printout from Preferred. They did, in fact, actually correct, or attempt to correct all of the problems. Not having much faith, after our first bad experience, I returned it to Preferred to give it a second look. The one remaining problem, tires were not balanced correctly. Rather than return to Capitol Volkswagon, I just had Preferred balance the tires, and they also suggested that the new rear tires be swapped to the front. I would rather pay Preferred to do the tires, rather than return to Capitol for free repair. At least I know it was done right. All's well that ends well!

We bought this car on 10/27 from Capitol Volkswagon and brought it in for a checkup. Although the dealer claims (brags) they do a 124 point safety check before a used car is released for sale, Preferred found at least 6 problems, 3 of which were major safety repairs which had not been done. We took the car back to the dealer along with the report from Preferred and are awaiting completion by their shop. I intend to take it back to Preferred when the dealer's shop is done to see if all issues have been addressed. Dave and Sarah, you never disappoint!

Bad tires are a BIG deal! I'm glad the Dealer did the right thing and stepped up to the plate to correct thie issues!

I dropped in to make an appointment and had a tail light out. I asked them if it was possible to just fix that because I had to drive a distance that night. They fixed it immediately. I can always count on them to address immediate concerns where possible in a courteous and friendly manner.

My battery terminal post was stripped and they pointed that out to me. Thank you for checking all the little things. It makes a big difference!

I have used Preferred Automotive since moving to Gilroy 4 years ago. The shop/Dave Rose was recommended by family members who have always gone there. My first visit was for an oil change, which included the FREE seasonal check-up. I was so impressed with the complete service, I now use Preferred Automotive for all my car servicing and repairs. I completely trust Dave when he diagnosis and recommends repairs. He has always been thorough and trustworthy. My daughter has started coming from San Jose to takes her SUV there.
